1-3 July

Lundaspelen summer 1-3 July

U11 (2012 or later)

U12 (2011 or later)

U13 (2010 or later)

Basketball friends!

We will hold the premiere tournament  Lundaspelen Summer  on  1-3 July in Lund!

To offer the youngest players an opportunity to feel the Lundaspelsatmosphere, we will create a slightly smaller tournament for the youngest this summer. That we turn to the youngest is due to the fact that the age groups have never experienced the Lundaspelen because of the  pandemic.

The following three classes are now open for registration. Welcome!

U12 (2011 or later)

U13 (2010 or later)

Lundaspelen 2023 (2-5 January) with all classes opens its registration on Thursday 7 April

Tournament information

U13 Game rules

U13

Lundaspelen is played according to FIBA rules, except for the following changes.

Game time

Categories U13 play 4x8 minutes running time except for the last 3:00 minutes of the game and overtime periods when stop time will be applied. During stop time the clock will be stopped both if the game is stopped by a referee and if a team scores. The clock will NOT be stopped if the game is stopped by the referee or if a team scores with more than 3:00 minutes remaining and the clock then reaches 03:00.

Throughout the game the clock will always be stopped if a player receives a fourth foul and if for any reason the referee signals for it.

Time-outs

Each team is given one time-out per half. The time-out from the first half may not be transferred to the second half. In the case of overtime, no new time-outs are given but if you haven’t used the one from the second half you may use it during overtime.

After a time-out the clock will be started when the ball is touched by a player on the playing court except if the game is resumed with free-throws. Then, during running time the clock will be started when the shooter gets the ball and during stop time when the ball is touched by a player on the court after the last free-throw.

Substitutions

Substitutions may only be done during a dead ball situation. When the ball is dead the substitute will call for the player he is substituting. Once that player has left the court the substitute may enter the court and become a player. The referee will not call for a substitution, nor hold the ball or delay the game during substitutions.

Penalty for incorrect substitution: First time official warning, second time B-technical foul.

Fouls

Four personal fouls are allowed. When a player receives a fourth foul the game clock should be stopped until the player has been substituted.

Team fouls are penalized on the 8th foul in each half.

Any disqualified player (D-foul, not GD or F), team member or coach may not participate in the next game.

Shot clock

The shot clock is unobserved but the referee can signal for 10 seconds left of the offense if a team, in the judgement of the referee, is deliberately delaying the game or if the ball does not touch the basket in due time.

Uniform colours

The first team named in the schedule, Team A, shall wear light coloured shirts. The second team named in the schedule, Team B, shall wear dark coloured shirts. However, if the two teams agree they may change the colours of the shirts.

Ball size

U13 play with ball size 6.

Overtime periods

Regulation ties are decided by overtime played 1x2 minutes until the winner of the game is decided. The overtime period is regarded as a prolonging of the second half meaning all fouls committed during the second half will count as team fouls also during overtime. No new timeouts are given but if you haven’t used the one from the second half you may use it during overtime. The possession arrow is applied at the start, and throughout, the overtime. The clock will be stopped according to the rules of the 3 last minutes of the second half.

U11 & U12 Game rules

U11-U12

Mini Lundaspelen is Lundaspelens form of playing for U11 - U12 and younger. In this category we've created a form of playing in acccordance with FIBA's and Sweden Basketball Federation guidelines for children playing the great game of basketball.

The main aim in U11-U12 is to develop the players skills and at the same time don't completely take away the different levels of the players/teams which is natural, but at the same time not encourage the external stress from the adult world of sports in just focusing on the result parts (Winning). The thought is that coaches and spectators should encourage the team and players part in testing their skills as individuals and as a team in order to do their best and have the will to do so and hopefully get a great start in enjoying the game and their own and team development in it. In order for the teams to still get the feeling of the tournament Lundaspelen we "end" the tournament with a special cermony where everyone is encouraged to take part and ALL players get a medal.

Group play

All teams get divided into groups (  see gameschedule ) where all teams play against each other in the group. (1th and2nd of July). The results are not published , but are noted down to form play-off groups.

Play-off

At the play-off stage the teams get divided into new groups depending on their results in group play. The teams will now be more likely to be on the same level and hopefully the games will be even more enjoyable for the children in order to test their skills as individuals and teams. No results will be published here either.

Mini Lundaspelen Cermony

The U11 and U12 "tournament" will be finished with a cermony for all teams, both sexes, in Lerbäckshallenhallen on the afternoon of the 3rd of July. This starts as soon as the 2 last U11 and U12 games are played.

All participants in all U11 and U12 teams are encouraged to participate and at that point we will also present all players and coaches with an individual medal.
